For transportation information or to schedule a ride,
 call MASS at 1-815-539-7700

When possible, please call the MASS office at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a ride. This will allow you a better chance to secure the time needed. A donation is suggested for this service, and no one age 60 or over will be refused a ride due to inability to pay.

MASS does offer special transportation trips with volunteer drivers, available to seniors 60 years or older for these ‘out-of-area’ medical appointments Monday through Friday.*  We know that some people have doctors, dentists, etc., in other town, such as Sandwich, Peoria, Rockford, etc.

*There is a suggested donation for this service and it is advisable to call early  to schedule your transportation.

Transportation Certificates
MASS has punch tickets available for our transportation services. If you are looking for a gift for someone special, this would be a great choice. Contact the MASS office at 815-539-7700 for more information.
Regularly Scheduled Van Transportation

Free hearing screenings are conducted at the Mendota Civic Center every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hearing aid batteries are available at the MASS office. Batteries are $6.95 for a pack of six. Used batteries are collected as well as the old fashioned “over the ear” hearing aids which are refurbished and given to clients who are unable to afford new ones. These items can also be dropped off at MASS.

Driver's Review Course
We are told life is all about attaining balance. As we age, that becomes literal. Balance involves several systems in the body; vision, inner ear, reaction time, muscle strength, and joint flexibility. If any of these systems are not working properly your balance will be affected.

A Matter of Balance is a nationally recognized program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels. It includes 8 sessions led by a trained facilitator. The class will meet every Monday and Wednesday starting May 6, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Class size is limited! Please call the MASS office at 815-539-7700 to register for the 4-week class.
