For transportation information or to schedule a ride,
 call MASS at 1-815-539-7700

When possible, please call the MASS office at least 24 hours in advance to schedule a ride. This will allow you a better chance to secure the time needed. A donation is suggested for this service, and no one age 60 or over will be refused a ride due to inability to pay.

MASS also has special transportation, with volunteer drivers, available throughout our area for out-of-area medical appointments Monday through Friday. We know that some people have doctors, dentists, etc. in other towns, such as Sandwich, Ottawa, Rockford, etc.  There is a requested donation for this service.

Transportation Certificates
MASS has certificates for our transportation services. If you are looking for a gift for a senior citizen, this would be a good choice. Contact the MASS office at 815-539-7700 for more information.

The cost of a 12 stop Mendota ambulatory ticket is $20. What a deal…..you get 2 stops for free! Tickets are also available for other areas.
Regularly Scheduled Van Transportation

Free hearing screenings are conducted at the Mendota Civic Center every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hearing aid batteries are available at the MASS office. Batteries are $6.95 for a pack of six. Used batteries are collected as well as the old fashioned “over the ear” hearing aids which are refurbished and given to clients who are unable to afford new ones. These items can also be dropped off at MASS.

Monthly Potlucks
Coffee With a Cop
Due to low response and not wanting to waste Mendota Police Chief Tom Smith’s time, MASS will be offering Coffee With a Cop quarterly instead of monthly. This is your chance to sit down 1 on 1 with Chief Smith and discuss concerns that are important to you. In a relaxed and neutral area, it is a personal conversation that is as important to the officer as it is to you. Our next Coffee With a Cop will be on October 12th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Stop in for a cup of coffee and your chance to talk with Mendota Police.
The next Coffee with a Cop will be in January 2018.

Driver's Review Course
MASS is offering a Rules of the Road Driver’s Review Course Monday, October 30 in the Feik Senior Parlor at the Mendota Civic Center beginning at 9:30 a.m. The course is free to everyone of any age. This course is designed to assist participants in preparing for the driving examination.
Please call 815-539-7700 to register.
This is the final class of 2017. Watch for the 2018 schedule in our next newsletter.
